Cline Desktop App

<p>👋 Hey Product Hunt - I’m Saoud, founder of Cline.</p><p><br><strong>What we’re launching today 🚀<br><br></strong>Cline started as a VS Code extension and is now used by more than 11 million developers. Today, we’re launching Cline Desktop, an early version of our <strong>open source app for open weight models</strong>.</p><p>It brings the same Cline agent harness into a dedicated workspace where you can run agents in parallel, automate recurring work, extend what Cline can do through the Marketplace, and import tasks from other coding agents to keep going in Cline.</p><p>Cline Desktop is available on Mac, with Windows in beta.</p><p><br>👉 <strong>Download Cline Desktop:</strong><a href="https://cline.bot/desktop" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"> https://cline.bot/desktop</a></p><p><br><strong>Why Cline Desktop❓<br><br></strong>As we started delegating more work to agents ourselves, we found that keeping track of multiple agents, tasks, and context gets difficult pretty quickly.</p><p>The IDE extension and CLI work well when you’re actively working alongside an agent. But as you delegate more work, we think there should be a better place to manage those tasks together.</p><p>We also want Cline to complement the tools you already use. We jump between models and agents too, so being able to import a task from Claude Code or Codex and continue it in Cline was important to us.<br></p><p><strong>What you can do with Cline Desktop ✨</strong><br></p><p>🔷 Choose the models and providers that work best for you, including 300+ models through Cline, <strong>open-weight models</strong> through ClinePass, local models, or your own API keys<br>🔷 Import tasks from Claude Code, Codex, and other supported agents and continue with the existing context<strong><br></strong>🔷 Run multiple agents in parallel across coding, research, and other work<br>🔷 Schedule recurring tasks like PR reviews, repo checks, and documentation updates<br>🔷 Discover and manage plugins, MCP servers, and skills through Cline’s Marketplace<br>🔷 Use web search and voice input to bring in outside context and give longer instructions<br>🔷 You can also start a task in Cline CLI or VS Code extension and pick it up again in the Desktop app.</p><p><br><strong>Where we’re headed ✨</strong><br><strong><br></strong>This is still an early version, and we want to learn how people use agents beyond the IDE and terminal.</p><p>We’re excited to share Cline Desktop with the Product Hunt community and would love your feedback on what works, what feels rough, and what you’d like us to build next.</p>

<p>Congrats <a href="https://www.producthunt.com/@sdrzn" data-node-type="mention" data-mention-type="user" data-mention-id="sdrzn" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">@sdrzn</a> on the launch of your desktop app. I believe being able to run the same task across different open-weight models side by side and compare outputs would be huge, especially for picking which model fits which task type. Would love to see that as a built-in comparison view. Great work on this!</p>

<p>I like that Cline isn’t locked to one model or provider. Having that flexibility feels important as open weight models keep improving. </p>

<p>The ability to run multiple agent sessions in one workspace sounds really useful. It could make handling coding tasks much easier.</p>
